Brenda and Victoria,

I have to tell you about a very successful run made possible by Hero's Waggin Train this past weekend.

My name is Kris Fancher and I'm president of Keeshond Lovers United, a rescue organization in the Kansas City area. Anne Jones, Chapter Director of American Eskimo Heart Bandits in KS/MO, had emailed me a week ago about needing to railroad an Eskie to its new home in Florida. I responded to her that if it was put off a week, I would have a Keeshond needing to go to her new home in Alabama. As it turned out, the Eskie railroad did not work out on the weekend she had first planned. So Anne and I spoke and decided to try for last weekend. She had a new person doing the coordinating of Eskie runs and I volunteered to coordinate this one since it would have been Marilyn Johnson's first attempt at coordinating and it was going to be quite complicated!! (That turned out to be the understatement of the year!!)

I posted to the Keeshond List, as I usually do, plus I posted to other people who have helped us in the past. Anne posted to the Eskie List. Then I went through my list from HWT and sent out several emails. What a response!!! This run included not only Kees and Eskie folks but greyhound, boxer, pug, aussie, belgian tervuren, dobie, rottie and mixed breed rescue. Not only that, but we also managed to bring another rescued Eskie back from Terre Haute Indiana to Kansas City!! Two homes volunteered to overnight foster these two furballs since this was such a long run.

We spent over a week coordinating this run and it went so smoothly. I can't imagine how it would have been accomplished without the wonderful volunteers who belong to HWT. Daisy, the Kees, and Little Bear, the Eskie, are now in their forever homes and adored by their very grateful new families!!

I hope we'll soon have pictures of the dogs involved in this run so you can put them on the website. Thanks again for all you two do in maintaining the database and website for Hero's!!
