CYCLES IN LIFE
by Rose Fabricatore
Here's to Us, and all that will be.
The good times, the sad times,
For Ours, You and Me.
The cycles in life,
We can't understand.
The strangers we meet,
Who lend you a hand.
You help so many,
Yet it's only a few.
They are the ones
God turned over to you.
To keep in your care,
Giving warmth and pure love,
Until they are called,
To the Bridge up above.
Their stay may be long,
Their stay may be brief,
For someone who loves,
Time is a thief.
No one can measure
Any love by the years.
No one can erase,
Any sadness with tears.
But the time will come,
And make the circle complete,
At the Rainbow Bridge,
Where one day we'll meet.
You'll look at the faces,
For the pain and despair,
And be overwhelmed,
For it's no longer there.
A new beginning,
A new gentle start,
For all who left
Pawprints on your heart.
Those you couldn't help,
That made you so sad,
Are here with new friends,
Painfree and glad.
Playing and running,
As they never could do.
Along with the ones,
Who got help from you.
Now knowing what love is,
Where none was before,
And a soft gentle touch,
Their faith to restore.
For those who knew you,
They'll run to your side,
With a butt wag, a nose lick,
And love they can't hide.
Thru sadness and tears,
It seems an unending fight.
But this too shall pass,
When the time is just right.
So here's to all
That was and will be.
I'm glad that we met
Friends in rescue and me.
